Pavel Durov's First Post After Arrest
The founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, has made his first post following his arrest in France. He stated that the sharp increase in the number of messenger users has made it easier for criminals to exploit the platform, and he promised to combat this phenomenon.
"The sharp rise in the number of Telegram users, reaching 950 million, has created problems that have facilitated the misuse of our platform by criminals. This is why I have set a personal goal to achieve significant improvements in this regard," he wrote, adding, "We have already started this process, and I will soon share more detailed information about our progress with you." Durov also labeled as false the claims made by certain media outlets that Telegram is some sort of anarchic paradise. According to him, the messenger's administration removes millions of harmful posts and channels every day.
