Divorce Rates Rise in Armenia While Marriages Decline

The number of registered marriages in Armenia continues to decline, while the rate of divorces is increasing. According to the Statistical Committee, from January to July 2024, there were 8,974 marriages registered, which is 182 fewer than in the same period last year. Notably, during the same timeframe in 2022, there were 9,306 marital acts recorded, which was 332 more than this year.

In the first seven months of this year, there have been 2,626 divorces, which is an increase of 36 compared to last year and 49 more than the same period in 2022.
