Tragic Car Accident: Underage Sister and Brother Dead, Family Members Hospitalized

A tragic car accident occurred in Yeraskh on September 2, resulting in the deaths of an underage sister and brother, while three other family members were taken to the hospital.

The accident took place around 21:00 on the 70.5 km section of the Yerevan-Yeraskh-Meghri highway. A "Mercedes B200" collided with a gravel-laden "ZIL 130" truck.

According to reports from Shamshyan, one person died at the scene, while four others with varying degrees of injuries were transported to the "Ararat" medical center. Rescuers extracted the injured from the "Mercedes" and moved them to the waiting ambulances that had arrived promptly. Doctors provided first aid to the injured on site before transporting them to the hospital.

Following the incident, a criminal investigation was initiated by the Vedi investigative department. While law enforcement officials were working at the scene, the hospital notified the Ararat police department that one of the injured had succumbed to their injuries without regaining consciousness.

According to sources, the deceased at the scene was a girl approximately 10 years old, while the deceased at the hospital was a 3-month-old baby boy. The victims were siblings, with the injured also being family members. By order of the investigator, the vehicles involved in the accident have been transferred to a protected area of the Ararat police department.
