THEFT: 2 Million Drams Worth of Gold Jewelry and Cash Stolen from Neighbor's Home
On August 28 at 8:00 PM, a 42-year-old woman called the National Police's operational management center, reporting that gold jewelry and cash had been stolen from her residence on Sherami Street.
An operational group from the Malatya Police Department was dispatched to the specified address. It was discovered that between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM, the thief used a master key to unlock the apartment door and stole gold jewelry worth 2 million drams, 200 dollars, and 110,000 drams.
Thanks to the operational and investigative measures taken by the criminal investigation officers of the Malatya Police Department and explanatory work, on August 30, a 22-year-old resident of the same building presented himself at the police station and confessed that he had opened the neighbor’s apartment door with a key on August 28 and stolen the jewelry and cash from the bedroom.
The 22-year-old suspect, along with the documents and the stolen items, has been handed over to the Malatya investigative department.
