11 Lives Lost Due to Landslides Caused by Tropical Storm in the Philippines
In the Philippines, torrential rains caused by a tropical storm have been ongoing for two days. As a result of the flooding and landslides, 11 people have lost their lives, reports France24.
In the capital, Manila, schools and government offices have been closed, maritime transport has been suspended in the affected areas, and 29 domestic flights have been canceled. As of September 2, over 300 people remain in evacuation centers. Local authorities have been urged to prepare for the evacuation of communities at risk from the storm.
