The Situation in Ukraine Around Russia's Main Target is 'Complex': Sirsky
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, has stated that the situation around Russia's main target, concentrated in eastern Ukraine, is 'complex,' but all necessary decisions are being made. Syrsky did not specify the exact direction of the main Russian offensive; however, both he and President Volodymyr Zelensky have previously indicated that Russian forces are targeting the strategic city of Pokrovsk.
Last week, Syrsky mentioned that he had spent several days in the eastern front near Pokrovsk, describing the ongoing battles as 'exceptionally difficult.' Pokrovsk is one of the main logistical centers in Donbas. If Russian military forces capture it, they will have a direct route to two regional centers in Ukraine: Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro.
