The shelling of Belgorod and its surroundings has resulted in the deaths of five people, with 37 others wounded, carried out using the "Vampir" multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) with cluster munitions, reported the regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov via Telegram.

Explosions occurred in Belgorod around 20:00 Moscow time (21:00 Yerevan time) on August 30. Initially, the governor reported one death and seven injuries, but the numbers later increased.

All the injured have been taken to hospitals, with seven adults and three children in critical condition. In total, six children have been injured from the shelling.

Gladkov mentioned that three multi-story buildings in the city, as well as two social and two commercial facilities, were damaged during the attack. Several houses in the villages of Dubovoye and Novosadovoye in the Belgorod region were also affected.

Overall, more than 20 vehicles were damaged by the strike, and several fires erupted in Belgorod and its surroundings, all of which have been extinguished.
