Turkey Aims to Simultaneously Develop Relations with East and West: Erdoğan

Turkey is determined to simultaneously develop relations with both the East and the West; only in this way can we be strong and respected, stated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. “We are not choosing between the EU and the SCO, as some claim,” the president emphasized.

Turkey aims to become a full member of the SCO, where it currently holds observer status. Additionally, Ankara has been officially striving for EU membership as a full member since 2005.
