VIDEO: Missing Young Man Murdered by Friend; Authorities Reveal Details

The circumstances surrounding the murder of 36-year-old Ishkhan Simonian, who had been considered missing for weeks, have been unveiled. Charges have been filed against three individuals, including the victim's wife. This information comes from the press service of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

It is noted that the incident occurred on July 27 at 10:45 PM. The resident of Yerevan reported that on July 25 at 8:00 PM, her husband, Ishkhan Simonian, left their home to meet friends at the intersection leading to the Kotayk region villages of Dzoraghbyur and Voghjaberd, exited the vehicle along the way, walked in an unknown direction, and did not return. Weeks after his disappearance, his body was located in a gorge along the road leading to the cemetery in Jrvej community.

The crime was disclosed approximately one month later. The murder of the 36-year-old was organized, assisted, and executed by the victim’s 31-year-old wife, as well as two individuals aged 25 and 36 working in a warehouse owned by the deceased.

"The investigation revealed that the motive for the murder stemmed from the negative attitude one of the workers had towards Simonian concerning a personal matter. According to a premeditated plan, the 25-year-old, between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM on July 25, 2024, along with his 36-year-old co-worker and Simonian, traveled to a hill near the village of Geghadir where they consumed beer together. The 25-year-old injected a sedative into the beer meant for Simonian and handed it over, which after drinking, caused Simonian to fall asleep," the statement said.

During this time, the 25-year-old man struck Simonian's head with a rock twice. After confirming that Ishkhan Simonian was dead, the 25-year-old, with the 36-year-old man, moved the body to the back seat of the car, drove to the road leading to the Jrvej cemetery, and disposed of the body in a gorge adjacent to a dumpster. They then left the scene and cleaned the remaining blood from the car in an attempt to conceal their traces.

To mislead the investigation, the 25-year-old left one of the victim's phones in the warehouse and moved the other to a different location. The investigation has also established that the victim’s wife, aware of the crime, provided false information during her interrogation.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia further reported that the 25-year-old is a friend of the missing Ishkhan Simonian, who was in contact with his 31-year-old wife. Charges have been filed against the 25-year-old for murder, against the 36-year-old for being an accomplice to murder, and against the victim's wife for assisting a criminal. The charges have been accepted, and they have been formally charged. The two young men aged 25 and 36 are currently in custody, while the 31-year-old woman has been restricted from leaving the country as a preventive measure.
