Poaching Incident in Syunik: 200 Fish Caught Using Electric Shock

Police officers have uncovered a case of poaching. On August 29, at 7:50 AM, patrolmen in Vayots Dzor region stopped a vehicle with the brand "VAZ-212140" at the 108th kilometer of the Yerevan-Meghri road for inspection.

In the visible area of the vehicle's cabin, the patrol officers noticed redfin fish packed in polyethylene bags, along with an electric device used for fishing. The driver, a resident of Garni village, attempted to flee, while the passenger compatriots were arrested and, along with the vehicle, were taken to the Yeghagnadzor police station.

During interrogation, they revealed that the 200 redfin fish in the vehicle were caught using electric shock from a river flowing through the Gorhayk community in Syunik.

The two men, aged 40 and 54, from Garni village, have had their documents submitted to the Sisian investigative division. Measures are being undertaken to locate the 36-year-old man.
