POWERFUL TYPHOON EXPECTED IN JAPAN: WHAT IS KNOWN

A powerful typhoon named 'Shan-Shan' is expected to hit Japan. Authorities have declared a high level of weather alert and are urging people to strictly follow precautionary measures.

Several businesses have suspended operations, more than 230 flights have been postponed, and several expressways have been closed. On Kyushu Island, a written evacuation order has been issued for 845,000 residents.
