Entry to Kurchatov City to Be Restricted: Reasons Revealed
The operational headquarters for counter-terrorism operations in the Kursk region has decided to implement additional security measures to ensure the safety of the city of Kurchatov, where the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant is located. This was reported by the press service of the regional government.
From August 29, measures will be undertaken in the Kurchatov region and at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, according to the report. As stated by the acting governor of the region, Alexey Smirnov, the Ukrainian armed forces have not abandoned attempts to penetrate the city, "despite the fact that the security of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant is maximally ensured."
“In this regard, as well as to ensure additional security measures, the operational headquarters has decided to restrict entry to Kurchatov in the near future,” Smirnov said. The implementation of this decision will be monitored at specially organized checkpoints, the regional leader clarified.
