Video: Flooding in Sochi, Airplanes Redirected to Alternate Airports
Heavy rainfall has caused flooding in some streets and highways of Sochi. This information is reported by Russian media outlets.
It was noted that in the morning of August 26, rain fell, with weather improving by the afternoon, although brief showers were observed. In the evening, heavy rain resumed, leading to flooding in parts of the streets and creating issues related to traffic due to water accumulation and poor visibility on the highways.
According to RIA Novosti, the most complicated situation was noted in the vicinity of the "Marine Symphony" residential complex in Adler. As a result of the heavy rains, a landslide occurred on the road towards the village of Krasnaya Volya, with an estimated volume of about 100 cubic meters.
Last evening, eight airplanes were redirected to alternate airports, but they have since returned, and the airport is operating according to the established schedule.
