Unsanitary Conditions and Stench on Fanarjyan Street in Yerevan
For the past several days, SHAMSHYAN.com has been receiving complaints from residents of over 200 private homes on Fanarjyan Street in the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district of Yerevan. They justly voice concerns that the area has been under unsanitary conditions and stench for a long time, blaming the "Veolia Water" company.
Residents stated, "We are living in the 21st century, but it feels like the Stone Age. The entire street is filled with a foul smell, sewage is overflowing from the drainage, flooding the whole street, the properties of our homes, and even the area of School No. 117." They added, "We have contacted 'Veolia Water' so many times that they already know our numbers; they no longer respond to us. We have also contacted the Yerevan City Hall and the community administration, but they respond that it is not within their authority, and that 'Veolia Water' should resolve the issue. We understood that 'Veolia Water' needs to solve it, but as city and local authorities, aren't you here to serve the people? For several years now, we, the residents of the whole street, have been appealing to the relevant bodies, yet nothing has changed.
In this summer heat, the stench is suffocating; sewage is pouring out and flowing down the street.
