Major Car Accident in Lori Region: Vehicle Turned Over Found in Debed

On August 21, at 16:53, the crisis management center of the Lori regional rescue administration received a call reporting a traffic accident near the village of Dzoraget, where a vehicle had fallen from a bridge into the river, and there were casualties requiring rescue assistance.

A firefighting and rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was found that at the 27th kilometer of the Alaverdi-Vanadzor highway, a VAZ brand vehicle (driver: V. M., born 1952) had veered off the roadway, collided with the bridge barrier, and fallen into a riverside area of the Debed River.

Before the rescuers arrived, the driver and two injured individuals, S. M. and E. S., were extracted from the vehicle by local forces. The rescuers disconnected the vehicle's power, closed the gas cylinder valve, and assisted the injured individuals towards an ambulance, where they were subsequently hospitalized at a medical center.
