Tigran Avinyan's Friend Transferred to NSS Detention Center: 'Hraparak'

Tigran Avinyan's friend, Aram Azatyan, the head of the Arabkir district, has been transferred to the NSS (National Security Service) detention center associated with the agency, specifically the 'Yerevan-Center' penitentiary facility. This was reported by the 'Hraparak' newspaper.

The information was confirmed by the Ministry of Justice during a conversation with us. Previously, we had reported that a motion to change the house arrest of the Arabkir district head was submitted by the prosecuting attorney. The appellate court had approved the motion on August 9.

It is worth recalling that in early July, after investigative actions and searches conducted by the NSS and the Investigative Committee at Azatyan's workplace, Azatyan, his deputy, and several employees of the district administration were arrested.

A well-informed source hinted to us that the purpose of transferring Azatyan to the NSS detention center is to isolate him as much as possible from the outside world and to prevent any uncontrolled communications with anyone.
