Have the Chickens Removed from the Ground Been Sold? Hetq
The country of origin for the batch of poultry removed from the ground is Brazil. It was initially imported to Georgia and then to Armenia. Anush Harutyunyan, head of the Public Relations, Consultation, and Outreach Department of the State Service for Food Safety (SSFS), shared this information in an interview with Hetq.
A video released by the State Revenue Committee (SRC) shows the packaging of the poultry, which is from the Brazilian brand 'Seara'.
In an interview with Aurora News, Harutyunyan stated that in cases of border control, hazardous food items are destroyed through incineration or burial. The business operator decides the method of destruction, and the conclusion about the place and method of destruction has been forwarded by the SSFS to the SRC.
Typically, hazardous food products are fragmented in the case of small batches. However, with a specific quantity of 13 tons, it is not possible to carry out fragmentation. The SSFS also notes that this situation is indeed extraordinary, as they have not encountered such an event in the past 30 years.
The firm 'Armen-Hamik Brothers' has decided to destroy the item. The SSFS has transmitted the conclusion about the place and method of destruction to the SRC.
The SSFS assures that the mentioned products did not reach stores, as the entire operation took place immediately after border control. Since a legal process has already begun, no further details about the incident are being disclosed.
