Church, School, and Kindergarten Damaged: Aftermath of Recent Earthquake

In the village of Eranos, Gegharkunik Province, an assessment has been completed regarding the damage to 82 buildings, which include residential houses and auxiliary structures. This information was shared by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Narek Sargsyan, at a press briefing presenting the consequences of the recent earthquake.

“In the village of Eranos, cracks of various sizes have been recorded on the walls of 56 houses, stones have fallen from the earthen walls of 4 barns, and cracks are present in 22 buildings, including Eranos Middle School, the kindergarten, and the walls of barns as well as in 2 houses in the village of Tsovasar,” Sargsyan detailed.

Additionally, damages have been reported in the walls of the middle school, Holy Mother of God Church, and the culture house in the village of Tsakqar, where cracks have also been found.

Following the earthquake, the Ministry of Emergency Situations' crisis management center received around 120 calls related to aftershocks and damage reports.
