What Stage is the Magnetic Storm on Earth?

The magnetic storm on Earth, which began on Monday, has now ceased. This information is reported on the website of the Institute of Cosmic Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Currently, the Kp geomagnetic index is at levels 2-3, corresponding to a calm state of the Earth's field, according to the report.

It is noted that the Earth has exited from a plume of solar plasma, making the resumption of the storm unlikely. However, the risks of new eruptions and emissions on Earth will remain high for at least another two to three days.

According to forecasts posted on the laboratory's website, the magnetic storm was expected to begin on August 9, with its intensity assessed as moderate (G2). On the morning of August 12, scientists recorded a strong magnetic storm (G3).
