VIDEO: Flooding in Batumi, Streets and Building Basements Filled with Water

Heavy rainfall in Batumi has caused significant issues, with streets inundated with water and several residential basements flooded. Traffic in the city has also become complicated, reports formulanews.ge.

According to the Batumi City Hall, drainage wells and channels leading to the sea are being cleaned. It is noted that employees from the relevant city services are intensively clearing the drainage systems, and the situation is currently stable.

“All relevant services of the city hall are operating in emergency mode,” said Batumi Mayor Archil Chikovani.
