More Than 11,000 People Evacuated from Krasnoyaruzhsky District, According to Belgorod Region Governor

“More than 11,000 people have been evacuated from the Krasnoyaruzhsky district. About 1,000 people are currently in temporary shelters,” stated Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the Belgorod region, in the morning.

Russian BBC reported, citing data from the 2021 census, that the district has a population of just over 14,000.

Gladkov had announced the evacuation of the Krasnoyaruzhsky district's population the day before, noting that “it is a restless morning, the enemy has become active at the border.” Shortly thereafter, the city's entrances were closed.

Andrey Miskov, the head of the district, wrote on a Telegram channel that about 500 people remain in the area, mostly comprising administration staff and other necessary specialists.

The Krasnoyaruzhsky district is located approximately 45 kilometers from the city of Sudja in the Kursk region, where Ukrainian military forces entered on August 6.
