A Ukrainian man has been arrested on suspicion of the brutal murder of a Russian woman in Peru. This was announced by the Supreme Court of the Republic.

The hearing for Ivan Kuzmin will take place on Monday. He may face a six-month preventive measure. According to court officials, the preliminary hearing has been postponed due to the detainee's poor health.

The Peruvian newspaper El Comercio, citing authorities, reports that the man may have been under the influence of drugs. Radio RPP claims that the deceased Russian woman also used drugs.

The murder and dismemberment of the woman occurred at the Dos Mundos development center in the Loreto department, located in northern Peru.
