Suspect in Murder at 'Vahramaberd Gorge' Crossed State Border of Armenia, Investigative Committee Reports

The Investigative Committee reports that during the examination of the crime scene, a fired bullet casing, blood-like traces, and other items of significant importance to the criminal proceedings were discovered.

34-year-old Z. Hovhannisyan, who committed the murder at 'Vahramaberd Gorge', has crossed the state border of Armenia. A public criminal prosecution has been initiated against him, and pre-trial detention has been chosen as a measure of restraint. This information has been confirmed by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

Earlier reports indicated that due to an argument near the church in the Vahramaberd community in Shirak Province, one injured person and one deceased individual were transported to the hospital. The deceased was identified as 31-year-old A. Tarlovyan from Marmashen village, while the injured individual was 39-year-old L. Tarlovyan, also from the same village.

According to reports, S. Hovhannisyan, one of the participants in the incident, is the administrative head of Vahramaberd, while Z. Hovhannisyan, the suspect in the murder, is his cousin. The Investigative Committee states that during the investigation of the crime scene, significant items such as a fired bullet casing and blood-like traces were identified; samples have been collected. Corresponding expert examinations have been appointed, and the clothing of the victims has been seized for analysis. Multiple individuals have also been interviewed.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 155, Part 1 of Article 44-155, and Part 1 of Article 335 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. A. Tarlovyan and L. Tarlovyan have been recognized as victims in this case.
