Production Activity of Dairy Plant in Syunik Region Suspended
According to the decision of the head of the State Food Safety Inspectorate of Armenia, the production activity of a dairy plant (yogurt) belonging to individual entrepreneur Sevak Zadayan has been suspended in the village of Verishen, Syunik region.
The basis for the cessation of activity was the recording of violations identified by inspectors from the Syunik regional center of the Inspectorate within the organization. Specifically, a sample was taken from the product "Yogurt" and sent for laboratory examination. The investigation revealed that it did not meet the microbiological standards for enterobacteriaceae as defined by the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Moreover, clear violations of sanitary and hygiene standards were evident. In particular, the design, structure, arrangement, and dimensions of the production facilities did not ensure the possibility of technological operations that exclude the cross-flows of contaminated and clean materials, as well as protect against the intrusion of animals, including rodents and insects, into the production facilities.
The production buildings were not equipped with natural and mechanical ventilation systems, natural or artificial lighting, or washbasins for handwashing. Additionally, the doors of the sanitary facilities opened into the production area.
The surfaces of the floors, walls, and doors of the production facilities were not made of waterproof, easily washable, and disinfectable materials, the ceilings did not prevent the accumulation of dirt, potential mold growth, or the dropping of particles, the windows (skylights) did not have insect screens, and the sewage systems were neither designed nor implemented to exclude the risk of food contamination.
The food establishment did not have changing rooms for staff, and employees involved in the food chain had not undergone mandatory preliminary and periodic medical examinations. A deadline has been set for the elimination of the violations.
