Partial Renovation of the Yerevan-Gyumri-State Border Road

A section of the M-1 interstate road, connecting Yerevan to Gyumri and the Armenian state border, is undergoing a complete renovation from km 160+200 to km 171+700. This information was provided by the Road Department Foundation.

The renovated road segment, which stretches for 11.5 km, traverses the Shirak region, reaching from Ashotsk to Bavra (the border checkpoint).

The renovation work commenced in 2023. Currently, the lower asphalt layer is fully installed, while the upper layer has been completed over a 4.8 km section. Installation of the upper layer continues in other sections, along with work on shoulders.

Following the asphalting, the road will be equipped with safety features. The completion of the work is expected in the autumn. The contractual value of the construction works is approximately 2 billion 338 million AMD. The renovation is being financed by the state budget of Armenia.
