Human Rights Watch Calls on Turkey to Immediately Lift Instagram Ban

Human Rights Watch (HRW) has issued a statement regarding the banning of the social media platform Instagram in Turkey. This was reported by ermenihaber.am.

The statement notes that by completely blocking access to Instagram, Turkish officials have violated the rights of millions of users to freedom and access to information through their "arbitrary decisions." HRW has called on Turkey to lift the ban on Instagram immediately. The deputy director of HRW’s technology and legal issues has added that having disagreements with certain content on the platform can never be a reason to block access to it.
