Armenian Olympic Committee Files Complaint to IOC Regarding Arthur Aleksanyan's Final Match

The Armenian National Olympic Committee has filed a complaint with the Appeals Commission of the International Olympic Committee concerning wrestler Arthur Aleksanyan's final match at the Olympic Games. According to a report by Armenpress, this was stated by Karen Giloyan, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, during a conversation with reporters.

"In the 97 kg weight category final of wrestling at the Olympic Games, the appeal process regarding the match between Arthur Aleksanyan and Iranian Mohamad Zareh has reached the following stage. The International Wrestling Federation has responded in writing, stating that the referees made the correct decision. The fact that we are 100 percent correct is a fact. The Armenian National Olympic Committee, attaching the complaint from the Armenian Wrestling Federation and the response from the International Wrestling Federation, has filed with the Appeals Commission of the International Olympic Committee," Giloyan said.

According to him, the Olympic Committee's Appeals Commission has requested a detailed explanation of the specific incident and the grounds for the complaint. "We had situations during the Olympic Games where the response to similar incidents in other matches was completely contrary. We are more than confident that Arthur Aleksanyan would not have lost that match. Let the Appeals Commission make a decision. We will demand our gold medal until the end, up to the last instance, until Lausanne," he added.
