Details on the Collapse at the Sotk Mine
Today, on August 9, an emergency incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. Around 1:00 PM, the Vardenis Police Department received a report from the Vardenis Medical Center indicating that two individuals had been transported from the Sotk gold mine by ambulance.
According to Shamshyan’s information, a patrol group from the Vardenis division of the police was dispatched to the hospital, led by a community policing inspector.
At the scene, it was revealed that a collapse had happened at the Sotk gold mine. The individuals involved included 45-year-old Arman Minasyan, a resident of the village of Shatvan, who was diagnosed with a "closed fracture of the 3rd and 4th metatarsals of the left foot without displacement." The other individual, 40-year-old Gagik Gapoyan, a resident of the village of Vardenik, was diagnosed with "polytrauma, closed fracture of the middle third of the left tibia without displacement, lacerations, and abrasions on various parts of the body."
