Magnetic Storm May Begin Night of August 10

On the evening of August 9, a medium-strength magnetic storm may begin, which could last almost the entire Saturday, reports RIA Novosti, citing a schedule presented on the website of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The Earth’s magnetosphere will remain calm for most of Friday, but from approximately 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM (Moscow time), the disturbances are expected to start. Following this, a weak G1 level magnetic storm will emerge, which may rise to a medium G2 level.
