Marriage Rates Decline and Divorce Rates Increase in Armenia: NSS

In the first half of 2024, the number of marriages in Armenia has decreased compared to the previous year, while divorces have increased. According to the National Statistical Service (NSS), there were 266 fewer marriages in the first six months of 2024 compared to 2023, totaling 7,540 registered marriages in the republic.

Divorce cases have risen by 48 compared to the same period in 2023. In the first half of 2024, for every 1,000 marriages recorded, there were 294 divorces, as opposed to 278 during the same timeframe in 2023.
