Major Car Accident in Yerevan: Several Injured, Including a Minor
On August 7, a major car accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 5:50 PM, a Nissan vehicle traveling from the Silikyan neighborhood towards the North-South transit area, near 'Defense Housing', veered off the roadway under still unknown circumstances, colliding with the advertising boards and iron railings of 'Defense Housing', damaging them and partially coming to rest on the roadway.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, three individuals with varying degrees of injuries were transported to two different hospitals: 'Armenia' Medical Center and 'Holy Mother of God' Medical Center. The first responders included employees of 'Defense Housing' and a doctor on duty there, followed by rapid response teams from the ambulance service providing first aid at the scene before transporting the injured to hospitals.
A firefighting brigade from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. A criminal investigation has been initiated regarding the accident, during which the identities of the driver and the injured individuals are being established. According to the photojournalist's information, one of the injured is a minor boy. Following the collision, the car's engine was ripped off and thrown away. As per the investigator's directive, the vehicle is being transferred to the designated storage area of the police department in Yerevan.
