If We Conduct a Survey, Our Force's Rating Will Be 17%, the Opposition Movement's Will Be 2% – Hovik Agazaryan

Hovik Agazaryan, a deputy from the National Assembly's 'Civil Contract' faction, acknowledges that there are discontentments with the current government, but he does not believe that the opposition will be able to consolidate the disgruntled public.

This was stated by Agazaryan in an interview with Armlur.am.

"Mr. Agazaryan, the opposition movement 'Tavush for the Homeland,' led by Bishop Bagrat, has announced that they will resume rallies and actions starting in September, demanding the government's resignation. What do you say, do you have any concerns that this time the movement might succeed and remove your political force from power?"

"I do not have concerns, but I am worried that, in reality, the opposition is not gaining strength here, but I do not believe they will achieve anything, as they lack solutions to the problems. Bagrat Galstanyan may be able to convince some individuals gathered around the former presidents' axis by September to prepare for the elections in 2026. In that case, they might have a faction in the National Assembly; if he cannot convince them, that too will not happen," Agazaryan replied.

"But Mr. Agazaryan, the discontent with the government today is quite significant, both in terms of foreign policy and social issues. Is it possible this time the opposition could consolidate that disgruntled segment of society?"

"Of course, there are grievances, but those forces will not be able to consolidate people, perhaps other forces might be able to," he added.
