Russian Border Guards Deployed at Armenia-Turkey and Armenia-Iran Borders after Leaving Zvartnots

After completing their duties at Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport, Russian border guards have commenced operations along the Armenia-Turkey and Armenia-Iran borders. This was stated by the National Security Service (NSS) in response to a written inquiry from Azatutyun.

According to the NSS, “Under the agreement signed between Armenia and Russia in 1992, personnel of the Federal National Guard Service of Russia are responsible for the protection of the state border in the sectors of the Armenia-Turkey and Armenia-Iran borders.”
