Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is on the second day of his working visit to the Tavush province of Armenia.

“The residents of Voskepar are expecting the continuation of the state support program for housing provision in border communities, which amounts to 16 million,” Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page, sharing a video.

Residents expressed that due to certain criteria, they are unable to benefit from the program for building houses in border communities and requested changes to the criteria.

The villagers also mentioned that people from other areas are coming to build homes in the village and use them as summer houses, to which Pashinyan responded that it is not entirely negative.

“This is not just a program to build houses; our objective is for as many families as possible to be formed, for as many children to be born. We don't just want to build houses for people,” he said.

In response to a comment from another resident stating that the program did not work in their village, Pashinyan remarked, “Thanks to some colleagues, you've turned Baghanis, Voskepar, and Kiranth into Hiroshima and Nagasaki, that people were listening, their hands were trembling.”
