Alexis Ohanian Helps American Athlete Competing in Olympics

American athlete Veronica Freyling, who competes in discus throw, has announced on social media that she is unable to pay her rent. She participated in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.

“Tomorrow I participate in the Olympic Games, and I can’t even pay my rent! My school has only given me about 75% of the rent payment, while they are paying football players enough money to buy new cars and houses,” Freyling wrote on social media.

Initially, rapper Flavor Flav responded to her post and sent Freyling the necessary funds to cover her rent. Subsequently, Alexis Ohanian, the husband of legendary American tennis player Serena Williams, also responded. According to The Athletic, the founder of the social media platform Reddit sent the athlete $7,760.

On August 2, the qualification for the Olympic discus throw competition took place. Veronica Freyling ranked eighth, falling just short of qualifying for the finals, where seven athletes advanced.
