Anti-Corruption Committee Arrests Underway, Case to Reach Big Fish: 'Jhoghovurd'
The case of abuses in the Artashat community is set to reach the big fish. Arrests by the Anti-Corruption Committee are still ongoing. We are awaiting developments to see who will be targeted next. It is not ruled out that the case may reach tax officials and local authorities in the region. This was reported by the 'Jhoghovurd' daily.
The 'Jhoghovurd' newspaper had previously reported that during construction works in the Artashat community, visible cases of embezzlement and bribery by officials have been uncovered. As part of the investigation, public criminal proceedings have been initiated against nine individuals. They are accused of receiving and giving bribes in particularly large amounts and committing large-scale fraud. Detention measures have been applied to five of the accused.
Among those arrested, two are tax inspectors, the newspaper notes.
