Google Chrome Loses Passwords of 15 Million Users

In July, a massive disruption occurred in the Google Chrome browser, preventing millions of Windows users from accessing their saved passwords. This was reported by Forbes.

The issue affected approximately 2% of Chrome users on Windows 127, which accounts for around 15 million people. However, considering Chrome is used by over 3 billion people, that figure could be higher.

Google's temporary workaround required users to launch the browser via the command line with the input "enable-features=SkipUndecryptablePasswords," which was inconvenient for most users. Nonetheless, the company promptly responded to the incident and released a bug fix on July 25, requiring only a browser restart.

Google has apologized for the inconvenience caused and recommended that affected users contact Google Workspace support.

Previously, it was reported that Chrome is the fastest but also the most problematic browser.
