Construction of the 34 km section of the North-South Road, Tranche-2 (M-1, km 37+545 - km 71+435, Ashtarak-Talin) is currently in progress. This information has been reported by the Road Department Foundation.
Approximately 50% of the earthworks planned in the project have been completed. Asphalt laying works are actively taking place in various sections. The installation of the asphalt double-layer cover for nearly 10 km of the road has already been completed (around 6 km on the right side and approximately 4 km on the left side), while the double-layer asphalt laying for another 3 km section is underway and is expected to be completed by the beginning of October this year.
As of August, it is planned to start the top layer asphalt laying works for the mentioned sections. Simultaneously, construction is ongoing for the pavement of T-shaped intersections and transport hubs, as well as for the separation zone and curb, and drainage ditches.
Additionally, works for the construction of 3 overpasses are ongoing on the left side. The road construction is being carried out with funds from the Republic of Armenia's state budget and loans from the Asian Development Bank.
