Why Garbage Trucks Are Going Out Less: Katvalyan Clarifies

There are vacant positions for drivers at the "Yerevan Garbage Collection and Sanitation" company, which is why garbage trucks are going out on routes less frequently. This was stated by the company's head, Sasha Katvalyan, during a working consultation of the Yerevan City Hall.

The newly acquired equipment has already started operating, which has led to a shortage of drivers. "There are vacant positions for both night and day shifts. This is the sole reason why garbage trucks are going out on routes less than scheduled. The net salary is 280,000 drams," Katvalyan noted.

He also emphasized that during the past week, 40 vehicles were dispatched during the day shift, while 37 were deployed at night. The street cleaning was carried out using 17 water trucks and 6 vacuum cleaners.

The cleaning of the capital's streets has been conducted on a 6-day schedule with 2 shifts by 289 of the registered 328 sanitation workers. The remaining workers are either temporarily unable to work or on vacation.

It is worth noting that the Yerevan City Hall has purchased 8 new garbage trucks.
