Floods in North Korea: Kim Jong Un Personally Visits Affected Areas

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has overseen rescue and evacuation efforts for residents in areas affected by heavy rainfall and flooding, according to the Korean Central News Agency.

Reports indicate that Kim Jong Un visited the flood-affected regions in the city of Sinyuju in the Pyonganbuk-do province and the Chju County. On July 27, record heavy rains were recorded in the northern regions of the country, causing the water level of the Amnok River to significantly exceed dangerous thresholds. As a result, over five thousand residents have been isolated in areas at risk of flooding.

The leader of the DPRK immediately ordered the heads of party, government, and military departments to be sent to the scene. More than 10 helicopters from the Korean People's Army Air Force and various rescue vessels from the naval and border guard forces have been promptly engaged in the rescue operation.

Kim Jong Un has been briefed on the progress of the rescue efforts and has ordered that all possible medical assistance be provided to the rescued residents to ensure they feel minimal discomfort. Reports indicate that more than 4,200 residents have been rescued within a quarter of a day.
