A Su-34 fighter jet of the Russian Aerospace Forces has crashed in the Volgograd region, with the crew successfully ejecting. This was reported by the country's Ministry of Defense.
“While conducting a planned training flight in the Volgograd region, a Su-34 aircraft crashed. The crew has ejected, and there is no threat to the pilots' lives,” the statement said.
It was noted that the fighter jet fell in a deserted area. The flight was conducted without ammunition, and there were no reported damages.
The preliminary cause of the accident is stated to be technical malfunction, according to the defense department. An investigative commission from the Russian Aerospace Forces is currently working at the site.
