Tractor Explodes on Mine in Kiran Village: Injured Driver

Today, in Kiran village of the Tavush region, a tractor exploded on a mine while conducting border works, injuring the driver. A local resident reported this to NEWS.am today, July 24, noting that the driver is a resident of Kiran.

"I don’t know what works he was carrying out; he probably went there accompanied by border guards. He has been transported to the Ijevan medical center, but we have no information about his health condition," the villager told the media.

Garnik Danielyan, a member of the "Armenia" parliamentary faction, also confirmed the incident in a conversation with us, the site reports.

Journalist Voskanyan Sargsyan from Tavush shared on his Facebook page: "The injured man in the border zone of Kiran village has been discharged from the hospital. 33-year-old Mkhitar Jivani Ghardashyan, a resident of Kiran, was injured while working in the border zone for the border guards using a tractor due to the mine explosion." Ijevan Hospital staff informed Sargsyan that Mkhitar was discharged after receiving medical care.
