Photos: Accident in Ararat Province, One Injured

Today, July 23, a major traffic accident occurred in Ararat Province. Around 12:20 PM, on the right side of the Yerevan-Meghri highway at the 17 km mark, a collision happened between a "ZIL" truck driven by 40-year-old Arman Gyulamiryans and a "Howo" truck driven by 60-year-old Vardan Harutyunyan.

According to shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, the "ZIL" left the traffic lane, collided with a gas pipeline, damaging it, and overturned.

As a result of the accident, driver A. Gyulamiryans was transported to the "Erebuni" Medical Center.

A firefighting team from the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Masis No. 25 Rescue Service arrived at the scene. The firefighters cut off the power to the vehicles, replaced the gas cylinder valve of the "ZIL," and maintained duty on-site. The area has been secured.

A criminal investigation has been initiated regarding the accident. According to the news outlet, the "ZIL" was loaded with sand.

Note: A suspect accused of a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedural requirements established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia with a legal judgment that has entered into force.
