Everyone Thought They Were Churchill: Vucic
At the summit of the European Political Community held in Great Britain, many European leaders mistakenly believed they were taking on the role of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, forgetting how Churchill divided spheres of influence with Stalin, stated Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
“Everyone there thought they were Churchill, but there was only one Churchill. I wanted to remind them about Yalta and how much of Eastern Europe Churchill left behind. But pretending not to know, acting more foolish than one really is, can sometimes be more beneficial for your country. Just in these days, I saw and heard at least a dozen Churchills,” Vucic remarked.
According to him, the summit, conducted in a NATO+ format, was dedicated to reinforcing the conviction of the necessity of victory in Kyiv, up to the point where “the question arises: where is all this leading?”
It is noteworthy that Vucic participated in the summit at Blenheim Palace, where Winston Churchill was born, on July 17-18.
