Five People Dead Following Brawls After Copa America Final in Colombia
In Colombia, following the final match of the Copa America, where the national team lost to Argentina (0:1), five people have died as a result of various brawls that erupted. More than 20 individuals have been arrested. This was stated by the head of the Colombian National Police, Nicolás Rocha, during a broadcast on Caracol Television.
"In total, over 5,000 reports have been received nationwide related to fighting and various forms of public disorder. Currently, according to confirmed information, 1,322 cases of brawls have been recorded, of which 26 have resulted in injuries of varying severity. The number of those arrested stands at 25, but that number may still increase," Rocha said.
It is noted that four people died in the capital city of Bogotá, while another died in Ibagué. The Colombian national team lost to Argentina in the final match on the night of July 15.
