For the First Time in 40 Years, the Olympic Games Will Not Be Broadcast in Russia
For the first time in 40 years, the Olympic Games will not be broadcast in Russia. According to the sports.ru portal, a political decision has been made that it is impossible to air the Olympic Games on the "Pervy" and "Rossiya-1" TV channels under current circumstances without the flag and national anthem.
Negotiations for the broadcasting rights were conducted by "Match TV" and the VK holding, but no contracts were finalized.
The last time the Olympic Games were not televised in Russia was when the Soviet Union boycotted the 1984 Los Angeles Games.
