A fire has erupted in the tower of one of the world's tallest Gothic cathedrals, the Rouen Cathedral, located in the city of Rouen, France. Local media outlets have reported on the incident.
The Mayor of Rouen, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, stated that all resources of the city have been mobilized for the firefighting efforts.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
The Rouen Cathedral serves as the mother church of the Archdiocese of Rouen and Normandy. From 1876 to 1880, it was the tallest building in the world.
