“We Cannot Allow This”: Stoltenberg

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has called on member countries to support Ukraine more actively as it defends itself against Russian aggression. This was reported by the Russian service of DW.

“The outcome of this war will determine the global security system for decades to come,” he stated during his speech at the opening of the NATO summit in Washington.

Stoltenberg noted that there are no options for living next to an aggressive Russia “without losses and risks.” The NATO chief declared that “the greatest value and the biggest risk will be Russia’s victory in Ukraine” and added, “We cannot allow this.”

Stoltenberg emphasized, “A Russian victory in the war will embolden President Vladimir Putin, as well as other authoritarian leaders in Iran, North Korea, and China. It is time to defend freedom and democracy.”
