Spain Enters Euro 2024 Final, France Again Denied Chance for European Trophy

Spain is through to the Euro 2024 final, while France has once again been denied the chance to claim the European trophy. In the final, the Spaniards will face the winner of the Netherlands vs. England match.

La Furia Roja achieved a 2-1 comeback victory. The French national team opened the scoring first. In the 9th minute, after an assist from Real Madrid's forward Kylian Mbappé, Randal Kolo Muani scored with a header, putting Unai Simon's goal at risk.

However, the Spanish team managed to equalize before the end of the first half. The 16-year-old Lamine Yamal impressed with a stunning long-range shot in the 21st minute, becoming the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Euros. The Barcelona forward had previously registered only three assists in this tournament.

Spain took the lead in the 25th minute. A strike from RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo deflected off Barcelona defender Jules Koundé’s foot and found its way into the net, credited initially as an own goal but later awarded to the Spanish player. Olmo is now one of the top scorers of the tournament with three goals.

Thus, the total number of own goals in this tournament remains at 10, while the Spaniards advance to the final.
