NATO Orders Nearly $700 Million in Stinger Air Defense Systems, Stoltenberg Says
NATO has placed an order for Stinger surface-to-air missiles worth nearly $700 million on behalf of several member countries, announced Jens Stoltenberg, the alliance's Secretary General, on Tuesday, according to Reuters.
"Today, NSPA (NATO Support and Procurement Agency) has signed a new international agreement for the supply of Stinger missiles worth almost $700 million," Stoltenberg said at a meeting of defense industry leaders held during the NATO summit in Washington.
